Originally from the vibrant shores of Virginia Beach, VA, Maiyah moved to the state capital of Richmond to study journalism at Virginia Commonwealth University. There, her passion for social justice blended seamlessly with her boundless creativity. A dedicated force, she lends an ear to underrepresented communities, while leaving an indelible mark on a global scale.

An honors graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Maiyah distinguished herself in the top 10% of her major and earned a coveted spot among VCU's inaugural class of Ram Scholars. As an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and other campus groups, she passionately championed Black and Brown voices, underscoring her commitment to equity.

With a visionary spirit and unwavering devotion to visual media, Maiyah is an unstoppable agent of change, revolutionizing storytelling through graphic design and journalism. She leverages her creativity to raise awareness about social injustices, integrating her talents into impactful digital activism.
