Brent Bailey
National Youth Organizing Manager
Brent Bailey serves as the National Youth Organizing Manager at Community Justice, where he leads national strategies to support and equip young people working to end gun violence. His leadership reflects a belief that community-rooted solutions are key to long-term safety, and that young voices must be central to the change we seek.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Brent has championed community-led violence prevention efforts across cities including Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Macon, and Atlanta. Through policy advocacy, strategic support, and public education, he has worked alongside local leaders to uplift grassroots efforts. He also contributed to the creation of North Carolina’s first statewide Office of Violence Prevention and supported national efforts around the launch of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
Brent’s path into this work was shaped by mentors and organizations who recognized his potential and nurtured his growth. In 2022, he was named Cities United’s Young Leader of the Year, a milestone that propelled him into his first national role with Community Justice. That recognition wasn’t just a personal win—it was a turning point where trusted leaders saw the future of the movement in him and made an intentional choice to invest.
Now, Brent uses that investment to build space for others. He works to train and mobilize youth advocates, ensuring the next generation has the resources, skills, and power to lead. For him, it’s not just about policy change — it’s about legacy, sustainability, and making sure the movement is always moving forward.
