Brent M. Bailey
Southeast Regional Advocacy Associate
Brent Bailey is a passionate advocate for reducing gun violence, with extensive experience in community-based prevention efforts across multiple states. A native of Louisiana, Brent began his career as Program Manager for the City of New Orleans Office of Gun Violence Prevention. He has since expanded his work, collaborating with communities in Louisiana, Georgia, and North Carolina through Community Justice.
Brent specializes in coalition building, policy advocacy, and elevating the voices of individuals and communities most impacted by gun violence. His approach is rooted in ensuring that the lived experiences of those affected guide and inform efforts to create lasting, meaningful change in gun violence prevention.
While serving as the program manager, Brent was able to successfully grow the Barbers and Beauticians Collective Fellowship, a unique strategy aimed at reducing gun violence from a public health approach and working with the most impacted communities across New Orleans.
Through these endeavors, he was able to quickly rise to his current position as Southeast Regional Advocacy Associate with Community Justice. As a regional advocacy associate, Brent serves in Louisiana, North Carolina, Georgia, and across the southeast region of the United States. In this role, he is able to build local and statewide coalitions, facilitate educational briefings, and provide sustainable resources to Black and Brown community-based organizations working to end gun violence. Additionally, Brent serves with The Urban League of Louisiana Young Professionals, Young Democrats of Louisiana, and Leaders of Color.
